Unexpected things I learned from Property Prodigy
Although I enjoyed making rapid aesthetic decisions and implementing quick improvements for Property Prodigy, I am still concerned about my end-user. Ultimately, would my design contribute to creating a better real estate app for house hackers? UX tells me not to be so sure.
I believe that my visual design is based on solid and mostly accessible rules for usability. But I don’t know for sure until it is tested in usability studies or the market with A/B testing. I originally started thinking, “Straight UI is where I want to be!” Now that I have UX processes to use, I’m less sure.
Things to do in the future
Next time, I will do a short, unofficial usuability study for my UI projects. For this instance, I will test five(5) adults that have purchased real estate, either for business or personal use. More can be revealed about my design decisions from just a short test.
Visual resources are so important to productivity. I will definitely keep up my subscriptions to icons8.com, Freepik.com and Dreamstime.com. I need good, ethical and diverse sources for images and illustrations in order to get my ideas out quickly and aesthetically.
